A month after a Pretoria based diamond mining investment company went into liquidation, investors from across the world still appear to be pumping millions of rand into the firm’s investment “ventures”.
While hundreds of Mayfair Mining investors have lost more than R20 million in the company’s ventures, liquidators say people were still trying to invest in the company’s schemes, with a British businessman depositing R44 million (£4 million) this week.The ongoing deposits come as a department of trade and industry (dti) report leaked to the Pretoria News reveals a series of damning findings on the company’s activities.
