Carrick names NQM boss as new CEO

Carrick Gold has appointed former North labotory jaw crushers in south africaQueensland Metals boss John McKinstry as chief executive officer. The mining engineer of 25 years experience has also worked for Normandy, Newmont Mining and MIM.

North Queensland Metals was recently taken over by Conquest Mining. Carrick Gold chairman Laurence Freedman said Mr McKinstry's skills would be very valuable to the company as it continued the transformation from explorer to producer. "The company has over $18 million in cash and no debt as it continues to explore its gold tenements located north-east of Kalgoorlie," he said. "We have a major exploration program planned for 2011 with the aim of moving towards achieving production in the 2012 financial year."
