London Mining says work goes on in Sierra Leone

London Mining said on Tuesday it would continue to develop its iron ore project in Sierra Leone while local authoritiesball mill plant cost rajasthan stepped back from earlier statements that they had told it to halt operations. Earlier, officials from Sierra Leone Environment Protection Agency (SLEPA) said operations had been suspended at the Marampa site because the company had failed to obtain an environmental impact licence.

"We just ordered them to cease operations," SEPA official Momodu Alrashid Bah told state radio. "Sierra Leone has suffered too much in the handling of its mining areas by destroying its environment," he said in a subsequent telephone interview. But SLEPA chairwoman Haddijatou Jallow later said the operations had not stopped and negotiations were continuing. "They have committed themselves to fully comply with all laws regarding the environment," she told Reuters by phone. London Mining said work continued as usual.
