Lavalin Awarded Saudi Arabian Copper Mine Contract

Bariq Mining Limited is developing the flagship Jabal Sayid copper and gold project located 350km north-east of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The project is on track for commissioning in mid 2011 producing 240,000t of copper concentrate. The project is one of the lowest cost of capital per tonne of copper producing projects, which will also produce gold and silver in concentrate. SNC-Lavalin's mandate includes ore crushing, conveying and stockpiling facilities; facilities for concentrating, storage and loading; as well as mine infrastructure including power, water and tailings disposal facilities.
