Arnco goes green to cut oil dependency
US supplier of flatproofing products, Arnco has turned its focus to renewable and environmental-based components to reduce reliance on crude supplies, it was announced at MINExpo 2008 in Las Vegas. At a time of high oil prices, the company has developed a green technology called ecofil in a bid to reduce dependency on oil. The ecofil tire flatproofing component uses 100% virgin polymer and can cut costs by 25%, pumping at higher speeds than conventional equipment, the company said. Dolomite Crusher Supplier
"For years we have been dependent on petrochemicals as a major component of our patented polyurethane technology, and for years we have been trying to end that dependency. Now we have taken the first step," said Arnco president Larry Carapellotti. The ecofil component is designed to work with tube type or tubeless tires for off-road vehicles and is currently being developed in different formulations for specific applications, said the company.
